How to Keep Your Employees Engaged and Happy Even When Times Are Tough!

It’s no secret that employee engagement is a critical driver of business success. But what happens when times get tough? Economic downturns can make it challenging to keep your employees engaged and motivated, but fear not! We’ve got some fun and effective ways to keep your employees happy and engaged even during the toughest of times!

Get Real and Be Transparent

Being honest and transparent with your employees is always important, but it’s even more critical during an economic downturn. Employees want to know what’s going on in the organization and how they can help. So, why not make it fun? Host a virtual town hall or happy hour where you can have an open and honest discussion about the company’s financial situation, the impact on employees, and the steps being taken to address the situation. You can even turn it into a game with prizes for the most insightful questions or ideas!

Show Some Love with Perks and Benefits

During tough times, employees may be feeling the financial strain, so why not offer some perks and benefits to show them some love? Offer a free lunch delivery, extra paid time off, or even a virtual yoga class! According to a survey by Perkbox, employees who receive perks are 18% more likely to feel engaged at work.

Give Props and Praise

It’s no secret that recognition and appreciation are critical to employee engagement, and during an economic downturn, it’s even more important to give your employees some love. So, why not make it fun? Set up a recognition wall where employees can give props to each other for going above and beyond, or create a virtual leaderboard where employees can earn points for their achievements and redeem them for prizes!

Invest in Learning and Development

Investing in employee learning and development can help employees build new skills and prepare for future challenges. But who says learning can’t be fun? Host a virtual workshop or conference and turn it into a game with quizzes, interactive polls, and prizes for the top performers. According to a survey by LinkedIn, employees who spend time learning are 47% less likely to be stressed.

Promote Innovation and Creativity

During an economic downturn, organizations need to find new and innovative ways to work more efficiently and effectively. But who says innovation has to be boring? Host a virtual brainstorming session and turn it into a game with prizes for the most creative ideas. According to a survey by Deloitte, employees who feel their organization fosters a culture of innovation are 3.5 times more likely to be highly engaged.

In conclusion, even during an economic downturn, you can keep your employees happy and engaged with some fun and creative strategies. Being honest and transparent, offering perks and benefits, giving recognition and praise, investing in learning and development, and promoting innovation and creativity are all effective ways to keep your employees motivated and engaged. So, let’s get creative and have some fun!

Last week, Juanita spoke at several industry events, with the Five9 CX Summit EMEA at the top of her list.

The conference took place in Portugal and was curated to explore how people, partners, and the community of customers could come together to achieve aligned objectives in the world of CX transformation. Attendees had the opportunity to delve into the latest technologies and innovations and their role in creating exceptional customer experiences.

During the CX Summit EMEA, participants had the chance to:

WFM Essentials – Self Paced Online Training for WFM Professionals!

Here at last! Yeah!

Did you know that training in WFM can make a significant difference in organizational success? According to industry research, organizations that invest in WFM training have a 54% higher workforce utilization rate, a 16% lower absenteeism rate, and a 5% higher customer satisfaction rate.

That’s where WFM Essentials comes in – a 40-hour self-paced program designed to support individuals interested in entering or transitioning to a Workforce Management role or WFM leaders seeking to train their team on the fundamentals of WFM. The course offers a comprehensive learning experience through a series of videos, knowledge checks, and WFM-crafted exercises. By completing this program, participants will develop a standardized knowledge base and core competencies in cross-functional and functional areas, enabling them to enhance their team’s WFM practices and improve organizational outcomes.

WFM Accelerator

Last month saw the launch of our WFM Accelerator program – The WFM (Workforce Management) Accelerator Program is a comprehensive onsite and in person program designed to help organizations improve their workforce management practices and achieve better business outcomes. The program focuses on optimizing staffing and scheduling processes, improving employee engagement and performance, and enhancing the customer experience. It typically involves a combination of assessments, workshops, coaching sessions, and ongoing support to help organizations achieve their workforce management goals. The program is led by experienced workforce management consultants who have a deep understanding of the latest trends and best practices in the industry. The program is tailored to each organization’s specific needs and considers factors such as workforce size, industry-specific requirements, and organizational culture.
